Following a gossip-ridden press tour this summer, “It Ends With Us” is now available to watch from home.
The Justin Baldoni-directed romantic drama, starring Blake Lively, is available to rent/purchase on Prime Video and Apple TV+, and will release on Blu-ray/DVD on Nov. 5.
The film follows Lively’s Lily, a small-town girl who moves to Boston to start her own business. There, she meets Ryle, a neurosurgeon finishing his residency played by Baldoni. After a whirlwind honeymoon phase, things turn dark as Ryle turns out to be hiding an angry, violent side under his seemingly perfect facade. The film’s marketing, specifically Lively’s press interviews, was criticized for mishandling the film’s serious themes surrounding domestic violence.

In his review, Variety film critic Owen Gleiberman wrote that “love stories have more or less faded out of mainstream cinema, and it’s gratifying to see one that isn’t a rom-com, for once.”
“It gives Blake Lively the chance to play a woman who tries to make the right choice, but has to wake up from the dream she’s been living in — maybe her whole life — to do it,” he continues. “By the end, we’re watching a different movie than the one we thought we were. But it’s still a love story, just one about learning to love yourself.”
