Chari Hawkins

The former Madison High School standout passed 1.56 meters, 1.59m, 1.62m, 1.65m and 1.68m on Thursday before clipping the bar at 1.71 meters in her sixth attempt. Hawkins was unable to clear the 1.71-meter mark on her second and third tries.

Hawkins was the only athlete to no-height, less than two months after finishing second in the high jump by clearing 1.79 meters at the 2024 U.S. Olympic Team Trials in Eugene.

The Team USA athlete still has an opportunity to climb the leaderboard via remaining events Thursday and Friday, but she likely won't be in contention for a medal. Hawkins sat in last place in the women's heptathlon following the 100-meter hurdles, high jump and shot put.

Hawkins finished 11th in the second shot put group and 17th overall out of 22 competitors at 13.64 meters. In the heptathlon 200-meter race, the final event of day one, she posted a time of 24.49 for 15th overall. Results and Friday's schedule are included in this article.
