The two-time Olympic medallist, who starred for two seasons a member of the University of California-Los Angeles women's gymnastics team, hinted to Olympics.com Friday (2 August) that that’s when she’ll make an announcement her future plans.
"I know floor is coming up. That's my main focus, but you never know. You never know. I might have the four letters [UCLA] across my chest. You might see me in '28," said Chiles. "As of right now, I think my main focus is kind of just finishing floor because this is my first time ever being in an event final. I'm really excited that.
"I just say stay tuned for August 6th. There might be an announcement for something," she concluded.
The American competed in the NCAA for the 2022 and 2023 seasons.
“But at the same time, you know, I had a lot of telling me, like, 'You got this.' Like, 'Go for it,'” she continued. “Even [UCLA head coach] Janelle [McDonald] was telling me, she's like, 'No, you got this. We're going to be cheering you on. Your team is always going to be here.'”
