UTA Independent Film Group has boarded U.S. sales for horror-thriller “Push.” The film, which stars Alicia Sanz and Raúl Castillo, will have its world premiere at the Sitges Film Festival.
Sanz’s credits include “Simulant” and “El Cid.” Castillo’s credits include “The Inspection” and “Army of the Dead.”
“Push” is written, directed and produced by David Charbonier and Justin Powell (“The Boy Behind the Door,” “The Djinn”).
The film follows Natalie Flores (Sanz), a pregnant realtor who is attacked by a sadistic killer (Castillo) at her open house, sending her into premature labor. Up against a physiological ticking clock, Natalie must find a way to escape before she gives birth.

The film is produced by Ryan Scaringe (“Eradication,” “Detained”), and executive produced by Amy Lippens and Jilbert Daniel. Sanz and Castillo also serve as executive producers on the film.
The production companies are Kinogo Pictures and Mad Descent.
Castillo is represented by CAA, JWS Entertainment and Goodman, Genow, Schenkman, Smelkinson & Christopher.
Sanz is represented by Range Media and Brecheen Feldman Breimer Silver Thompson.
Charbonier and Powell are represented by UTA, Anonymous Content and Marios Rush.
Sitges, also known as the International Fantastic Film Festival of Catalonia, claims to be the number one fantasy film festival in the world. It runs Oct. 3-13.
The opening film will be Steven Soderbergh’s “Presence,” a story about a family that moves into a suburban house and becomes convinced they’re not alone. “Never Let Go,” directed by Alexandre Aja, will be the closing film. The supernatural tale, which takes place in a cabin in the woods, stars Halle Berry.
