"We have broken the barrier after the quarterfinal against Greece. After that, we just played better and better and as a team. We played better every single game. It was the idea that we wanted to do in the first place. We won the game deservedly so,” Jaksic said.
Croatia was last on the podium at the Olympic Games Rio 2016, where they also took silver having lost to Serbia. Marko Bijac said his team didn't play as well as they could.
"It is hard to speak this game. We were not on the same level that we had (been) in the quarterfinal and the semifinal. This is the only thing I regret,” Bijac said. “Serbia deserved this victory."
