Spanish youngster Carlos Alcaraz will be up against Alexander Zverev of Germany in the French Open 2024 men’s singles final at the Court Philippe-Chatrier, Stade Roland Garros in Paris on Sunday.

At only 21, Alcaraz has become the youngest player to reach the final of a Grand Slam on all three types of tennis courts - hard, grass and clay.

The Spaniard came back from behind to beat Jannik Sinner of Italy 2-6, 6-3, 3-6, 6-4, 6-3 in a marathon semi-final clash, which lasted over four hours.

World No. 4 Alexander Zverev, meanwhile, has reached the final of the French Open for the first time after making it to the semi-finals in each of the last three editions at Roland Garros.

Zverev beat Casper Ruud of Norway 2-6, 6-2, 6-4, 6-2 in the semi-finals this time to set up the second Grand Slam final of his career.

The last time he reached a Grand Slam final was in 2020 when he lost to Austrian player Dominic Thiem 2–6, 4–6, 6–4, 6–3, 7–6 in the US Open men’s singles title decider.

Alexander Zverev holds the edge over Carlos Alcaraz in head-to-head records, having won five of their nine meetings. Alcaraz has won four.
