Azarenka retired from her Round of 16 matchup against Cincinnati native Peyton Stearns in the National Bank Open on Friday in Toronto.
Azarenka, who was slated to play Lucky Loser Lucia Bronzetti Wednesday in the P&G Grandstand, is one of just four players with 20-plus match wins in the Cincinnati Open, along with Simona Halep, Serena Williams and Jelena Jankovic.
