Aldi is constantly reintroducing popular products and the supermarket's latest pet-friendly dessert is receiving a warm welcome. The "sell-out" doggy ice creams are back as an Aldi Specialbuy.

Newfoodsuk posted to Facebook and Instagram about Aldi's new "doggy ice cream", with more than 1,000 customers reacting and commenting on the news.

Pooch parents flocked to the comments section to express their enthusiasm about the new product.

One dog owner said: "I need these for Penelope." Another tagged their fellow dog lover, stating: "We are going to Aldi tomorrow."

A third said: "Willow will devour these." Another pooch parent tagged their fellow dog enthusiasts: "For the fur babies."

As the UK experienced some warmer weather over the weekend, one customer called the product a "summer need". Another added: "Doggies will be happy this summer."

Speaking about the dog-friendly desserts, some containing carrots and apples and others with peas, one said: "They sound yummy."

Pet owners could not wait to head to their local Aldi. One dog parent said: "The boys will love this." Another seconded this: "I have to get madam some."

Aldi said: "Back by popular demand, Aldi’s Doggy Ice Cream returns to stores nationwide from May 13. The supermarket sold 30 tubs every minute of the canine-compatible treat when it first launched.

"Pet owners will need to dash-und to the frozen aisle because, as with all Specialbuys, once they’re gone, they’re gone!

"For just £2.99 (Four pack, 110ml each) furry friends can get involved in the ice cream action with a choice of two delicious flavours: Pea and Vanilla and Carrot and Apple.

"The Doggy Ice Cream is 100 per cent plant-based and is made with real fruit and vegetables, providing a nutritious snack whilst keeping pets cool during the warmer weather."

Managing Director of Buying at Aldi UK, Julie Ashfield, said: "We were delighted to see another positive response to our dog-friendly ice cream last year. Now it’s back, we hope even more beloved pets can enjoy."

The "pawsome" product is an Aldi Specialbuy, which means it won't be on shelves forever.
