Strictly Come Dancing’s longest-serving judge is sporting a new look for the latest series of the BBC show.

Craig Revel Horwood showed off his beard in a string of promotional photos for the upcoming series.

The judge, who has been on the show since 2004, was pictured in black tie complete with a thick dark beard, alongside fellow judges Motsi Mabuse, Shirley Ballas and Anton Du Beke.

Eagle-eyed viewers once noticed the notoriously hard-nosed Strictly judge appear on air with a thin horseshoe of five o’clock shadow in November 2015.

At the time, Revel Horwood was preparing to play Captain Hook in a pantomime – a role he is set to reprise this winter at the Milton Keynes Theatre.

The Strictly judge’s new look comes after the Prince of Wales elected to bring his summer beard to work this year.

The Prince first revealed a full face of stubble during a video message for the Olympics, before turning out at the Saatchi gallery in a clipped but distinctive beard.

He was seen again this week sporting the beard after the Princess of Wales revealed she has finished her chemotherapy and is focused on staying cancer-free.

Strictly’s return to TV screens this winter has been marred by allegations of bullying and abuse on the set.

The broadcaster has launched a review into claims made by Amanda Abbington about her dance partner Giovanni Pernice last year. He denies the allegations.

Graziano Di Prima, another professional dancer, admitted kicking his celebrity partner, Zara McDermott.
