Round 2

Aguilar has blood pouring from his nose early in the second.

The fast and furious action continues, with Marksman firing to the body at will and countering nicely.

Both men are looking to let their hands go at every opportunity, which is leading to some thrilling exchanges.

“Too Smooth” Marksman on top for me at the moment.

Round 1

These familiar opponents and Florida rivals both look to go to work behind their respective jabs early in what is their fourth showdown in total in the amateur and pro ranks.

Both are eager to impress with their fast hands and footwork, with some eye-catching shots going in from both sides in a fast and furious opener.

The action heats up before the bell, with some furious trading.

That’s a very entertaining first round and a very tough one to score. More of the same, please...

Here we go!

Really looking forward to this rematch...

Here’s a laser-focused Mike Perry arriving at the arena a little earlier on...

A potential Fight of the Night contender on the way next!

We’ve got a lightweight rematch between Tony Aguilar and Corey Marksman, who played out a thrilling split-decision draw in their initial meeting on the fifth MVP Prospects card back in February.

That bout was fought over six rounds, whereas this second contest has been bumped up to eight.

Both men are undefeated, with that draw the only blot on their respective copybooks.

54-6-1 now for 38-year-old Chavez Jr, who knows that wasn’t his best performance after two-and-a-half years out of the ring but believes he definitely did enough to win.

The crowd don’t agree and give a decidedly underwhelmed reaction when asked to respond to Chavez Jr’s call-out of Jake Paul.

I don’t think we’ll see that fight somehow. On that evidence, it would be an easy night’s work for the Problem Child.

The scores are in!

59-55, 59-55, 58-56 - all in favour of Chavez Jr, who wins via unanimous decision.

Two of those cards are wider than I expected.

The crowd are not happy and neither are Hall’s team. Some boos during the post-fight interview with Chavez Jr...

Round 6

Chavez Jr - who is quite marked up on the face - looks to finish strong in the sixth, doing the better work before being buzzed by a solid left from Hall backed up against the ropes.

Both men land solid blows before the final bell and both think they have won as they celebrate inside the ring.

Fascinated to see how this has been scored. Regardless of the outcome, a moral victory for Hall.

A fine showing in only the MMA veteran’s second professional boxing bout and first since October 2022.

And against a vastly experienced former world champion to boot - albeit one who hadn’t fought since 2021.

Round 5

This fight has really warmed up nicely after a slow start.

It’s a close, close contest, with both men trying to let their hands go during more busy exchanges.

But again, Hall as the aggressor probably gets the better of those close-range battles, landing nicely to the head but absorbing more damage to the body.

One round to go, this is anyone’s fight.
