Santacore is taking over Hollywood in the final weeks before Christmas

Santacore is taking over Hollywood in the final weeks before Christmas.

We’ve seen so many stars wearing their boldest, brightest reds: There was Taylor Swift in a Louis Vuitton half-zip sweatshirt, Kate Middleton in an elegant double-breasted coat, and red-on-red looks worn recently by Cate Blanchett, Jennifer Hudson, and Kelly Clarkson. Red purses are another celebrity-favorite way to spice up an outfit, as we’ve seen from Swift’s friends Blake Lively and Brittany Mahomes.

Take some cues from those stylish celebrities and give your winter wardrobe a festive kick with vivid red tops, bottoms, and outerwear we found at Nordstrom — starting at $50.

Once you’ve got a quarter- or half-zip sweatshirt in your closet, you’ll reach for it constantly on cold mornings. The style is made for throwing on top of snug base layers until you get toasty enough to take it off. Miss Red herself, Taylor Swift, wore one to the Kansas City Chiefs game on Black Friday, and this option from Cotton On is the same cherry red color.

It’s oversized, made with silky-soft brushed fleece, and has two pockets in the sides. Where Swift’s more casual pullover was cropped and super loose at the waist, this one is a bit more practical with a ribbed hemline that will keep you warmer and allow you to dress it up for work over a button-up shirt.

When Cate Blanchett attended a screening of her short film, Marion, in London in early December, she went all-in on holiday vibes. The Oscar winner wore a ribbed turtleneck under a belted jacket — both in candy apple red —over cropped jeans with raw hems and bright white shoes. It was a look that blended sophistication with playfulness.

We found a 100 percent cashmere turtleneck that looks similar to hers and will let you emit festive cheer at work or holiday gatherings, whether or not you pair it with a matching layer on top (like this Karl Lagerfeld wool-blend coat). Dress it down with blue jeans, like the Australian screen icon, or up with black or white jeans or some loose-fitting neutral trousers.

Long coats are a staple of a classy winter wardrobe, and we’ve been seeing them this season on Katie Holmes and Kate Middleton. While the Princess of Wales wore a more reserved, wine-colored coat during an official state event in London, she’s also been wearing the bright reds she regularly turns to during the holidays.

This cherry-tinted double-breasted coat is like hers, especially with the belt removed. It immediately elevates any winter look with its large notched lapels and wool-blend exterior. “This coat is the perfect true red,” wrote one five-star reviewer. “The fabric is really soft, so no need for a scarf to save your neck from itchy wool fabric.”
