Elf has become a holiday movie staple since it first premiered over 20 years ago on Nov. 7, 2003.
The film follows Buddy the Elf's (Will Ferrell) journey to New York City from the North Pole to meet his biological father Walter Hobbs (James Caan), where he learns a thing or two about himself in the process.
Whether smiling is your favorite activity or you're waiting for Santa's imminent arrival; Elf is the perfect holiday movie to get you into the Christmas spirit. But which character from the iconic movie are you most like based on your zodiac sign?
Water signs may relate more to Buddy's sensitive and youthful outlook on life while Air signs align with Jovie (Zooey Deschanel), Buddy's love interest and fellow "elf" working at Gimble's department store.
Read ahead to learn whichElfcharacter you are based on your zodiac sign, according to astrologerLisa Stardust.
Ming Ming is "self-assured, works hard," and is a "real go-getter," much like Aries placements. Stardust says that the character (played by A Christmas Story alum Peter Billingsley) "radiates the fiery vibe of Aries and exudes the tenacity of the ram to succeed at all he does."
Michael is Buddy the Elf's "chill" half-brother who "struggles to let Buddy in at first, but then eventually warms up to him," Stardust points out. The astrologer adds that Michael's apprehension when he meets Buddy for the first time is "similar to Taurus placements in the sense that they need to fully trust before committing."
Deborah is Walter Hobbs' upbeat and bubbly secretary in Elf. Stardust explains that much like Gemini placements, Deb "exudes energy and is in the know about everything in Walter’s life (since she organizes it), except for his long lost son Buddy."
Like Cancer placements, Papa Elf is nurturing and caring for Buddy when he first arrives at the North Pole as a baby. Stardust adds, "like any Cancer, he is protective over Buddy and the TLC he bestows upon Buddy rivals that of a parent — which is who he is to Buddy."
Ho ho ho! In Elf, Santa Claus is considered the "catalyst and showstopper of the movie." Stardust adds that "his generosity and larger-than-life presence align closest with the zodiac sign Leo."
Like most Virgo placements, Stardust says that Emily Hobbs — the matriarch of the Hobbs family — "exhibits kindness and understandingtowards her newly found stepson."
In true Libra form, Stardust notes that Dr. Leonardo just wants "everyone to get along" as he encourages "Walter and Buddy to form a relationship to know each other better." It's "with his advice, that the two eventually form a connection," Stardust continues.
Scorpio placements are known to "embrace their desires and wants," just like Miles Finch in Elf. Stardust explains that "Finch is the determined author that will stop at nothing to be successful" and that he explicitly expresses those desires during his meeting with Walter.
Wanda — the store manager at Gimble's — matches well with Sagittarius placement's humorous personality. Stardust says "his sassy and low-key competitive vibe can motivate anyone to work hard and laugh."
Walter Hobbs — the patriarch of the Hobbs family and father of Buddy — is very business-minded at the beginning of the movie, however, Stardust notes that "he learns to let loose by turning his mind towards family, which Capricorns get to after reflecting on their life like Walter does."
As an Aquarius, Jovie walks to the beat of her own drum. But Stardust says she "has an altruistic side similar to the water-beater and as she gets to know Buddy, she sees that the spirit of the season can make anything happen and inspires love."
As Stardust points out, Buddy "has a sensitive and tender heart that radiates goodness" throughout the movie. Stardust adds that "Pisces tend to believe in miracles and live in their own world like Buddy, with their big hearts and compassion."
