“euphoria” serves as Kendrick Lamar’s official response to Drake’s April 2024 diss tracks, “Push Ups” & “Taylor Made Freestyle,” while also serving as his first solo release since May 2022’s Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers. All of these diss tracks are a culmination of the shot that Lamar initiated toward Drake and J. Cole throughout his featured verse on Future & Metro Boomin’s March 2024 song, “Like That.”
The song was released via YouTube on April 30, 2024, without any prior announcement. After a few hours, “euphoria” appeared on all streaming services.
Made of three distinct song in which Lamar targets Drake, his public perception, and his many celebrity associates, the track playfully references Drake’s biracialism and place within both “Black culture” and the music industry at large.
