The synchro gold medallists banked a series of 9s in the preliminaries to qualify as the top two by a distance, with Quan scoring 90.75 for her fourth dive.
But Spendolini-Sirieix seems to be the best of the rest, amassing a total of 367.00 for her five dives and with North Korean Kim Mi Rae back in fourth with 322.40.
With a synchro bronze already under her belt alongside Lois Toulson, who finished 13th in the semis to narrowly miss out on the final, Spendolini-Sirieix is having the time of her life at the Games and it could be to get even better.
