Welcome to The Blueprint, where we break down the celebrity looks we want to wear right now and build them back up, piece by piece.

My simple pleasures in life include a milky iced latte, a 2000s rom-com, and a ’fit that makes me feel on top of the world. And when two of these intersect, life feels as sweet as I imagine Razzles to be.

On November 10, Jennifer Garner stepped out in an outfit I’ll be copying for the holiday season, teaming a classic black crewneck sweater with a polka-dot midi skirt and block heel ballet flats. The skirt looked similar to the one she wore to The Eras Tour or could have been plucked from her 13 Going on 30 character’s closet, while the timeless sweater reminded us of a top Emma Stone recently wore. And the low-heel shoes had a slingback detail like Meghan Markle has been wearing. All together, it’s an ideal combo that mixes comfort with style.

Dressed for mild Los Angeles weather, Garner wore what looked like a lightweight crewneck sweater. The top’s trim silhouette had a little wiggle room but was more tailored than oversized, similar to this Amazon find.

It’s “very soft inside,” according to one shopper, and — I know I sound like a broken record — black goes with everything, so I know it’s a piece that I can work into lots of different outfits.

If you were to take a look at my recent search history, you’d find a lot of references to polka-dot clothing. Jennifer Lawrence’s dress at the Oscars started my obsession with the print, which celebrities continue to fuel. I can already envision this maximal skirt with a buttoned-up white blazer. A red lip, a red purse, and some boots will make a cozy holiday look. And if you’re not into prints, check out this solid Mango Maxi Skirt at Nordstrom.

If I’m being honest, I never put any stock into ballet heels, but it’s refreshing to see a block heel that isn’t so “all or nothing.” The low heel will lengthen the look of my legs but is bound to be more comfortable than pairs that make me feel like they’re in a permanent élévé. And Taylor Swift just wore the chunkier heels, too.
