Tyson Fury has controversially said he's on board with Mike Tyson and Jake Paul's fight, despite the duo attracting plenty of criticism.

Tyson will be 58 by the time he goes up against 27-year-old Paul at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, on July 20.

Both men have been condemned for choosing to fight, with some figuressuch as Eddie Hearn and Ricky Hattonunhappy and worried about how the event could pan out.

Fury, however, isn't among the people queuing up to criticise the pair.

The Gypsy King, speaking to MMA fighting, believes only 'negative' people are bashing Tyson and Paul.

And he also insisted he wasn't a Paul 'hater', with the 27-year-old a controversial figure within the boxing world.

Speaking prior to his clash with Usyk on Saturday night, he said: "Only jealous fighters feel weird about the showdown.

"Negative people who are not making any money. I think it's fantastic. It's created a lot of money."

He added: "I get to see the legend in Mike Tyson back in the ring in my era... I know Jake and Logan Paul have a lot of haters, however, I’m not one of them."

Fury says he's 'over the moon' about the fight.

However, while he's not a Paul 'hater', he is hoping Tyson rolls back the years with a vintage display when he comes out of retirement.

"I think it's fantastic, I think it's created a lot of money," he said.

"One for Texas, selling all of those tickets. That means it's a big influence of dollars being spent in the local area.

"All of Mike's team and Jake's team is being fed from it and a lot of rent is being paid.

"I don't know what to be negative about, I'm over the moon about it and looking forward to it."

"If Mike Tyson's hits anybody, I don't care if he's 90, he's going to knock them out cold isn't he?

"He's Iron Mike Tyson, the baddest man on the planet.

"Jake Paul is very experienced now and he's had a lot of fights but obviously I have to back Mike Tyson for the knockout as he always backs me."

Fury's comments echo those of Tyson, who said earlier this week that sceptics were simply jealous.

LATEST SPORTS NEWS:

"This fight is very important," he said at a press conference earlier this week.

"Just the fact that he is taking the opportunity to fight me is mind-blowing … I'm very impressed with what he's accomplished.

"The people who said that I am too old to fight wish that they were up here. No one else can do this.

"Who else can do this? Who else can shut the sporting world down? No one else can do it.

"You got the both of us, so we're going to do this. We're friends. There's no doubt we're friends.

"But in the ring, we're not going to be friends. That's just what it is.”

On how the fight will pan out, he added: “We're going to see, huh, if Paul can take my power. No, I'm not trying to put an end to Paul. I really like Jake a lot.

"But once he's in that ring, he has to fight like his life is depending on it, because it will be.

"This seems like it's going to be fun. Maybe we'll do it again, too against someone else. But can I take care of Jake first, please?"
