Missing persons expert delivers verdict on ‘most likely outcome’ for Jay Slater

Missing Jay Slater has allegedly been seen "watching the Euros" by "several witnesses", a Tenerife Mayor has said.

Spanish police are said to be examining CCTV after locals claim to have spotted the 19-year-old watching the football tournament "on the coast".

The Mayor of Santiago del Teide said some of the witnesses had "been interviewed by police".

However, Spanish police are yet to confirm the claims.

The teenager travelled to an Airbnb in the village of Masca with people he met at the NRG musical festival on Sunday, June 16.

The apprentice bricklayer spoke to his friend Lucy Law at 8am local time last Monday to say he had missed his bus, his phone had just one per cent battery and he would walk home instead.

His last known location was in the mountainous Rural de Teno Park.

Spanish Police have meticulously searched the area where his phone signal was last located, with no trace of Slater being found so far.

LATEST DEVELOPMENTS:

It comes after CCTV footage of a “possible sighting” of the 19-year-old in Santiago del Teide was released by his family.

The image shows a male walking past a church in the village at around 6pm on Monday10 hours after friends reportedly last heard from him.

Mayor Emilio Jose Navarro said: "We know the police are investigating the CCTV images.

"They have asked for the town hall's security cameras and they are also working with the company that handles those cameras."

Travel writer Joe Crawley told GB News that as the claims about Slater's sighting are from a "member of office", people must "listen".

He said: "The rumour going around now is that a local mayor in the area has seen Jay in a bar watching the Euro games.

"Again, unsubstantiated, but this is coming from a member of office. You've got to listen. I mentioned the police are investigating that area now.

"I think it was Santiago del Teide which is the closest town anyway."
